| Description An outdoor performance on a grand scale: an unprecedented, one-day-only event in Yerba Buena Gardens featuring 100 Bay Area performers. Jones embarks on his most ambitious project yet: A Good Man, a dance theater work based on the life of Abraham Lincoln, set to make its Bay Area debut at YBCA in 09_10. Jones, whose iconic choreography and unflinching social provocation has earned him a prominent place in contemporary art, asks, “Had Lincoln completed the Reconstruction, what would America be like today?” To develop the work, Jones will conduct workshops nationwide, including here in the Bay Area. The culmination of his work in San Francisco is this extraordinary outdoor site-specific performance. Unpredictable. Risky. 100 Migrations is the quintessential YBCA “Life Amplified” event.
