SF Station Blows It Up

" Walking into 330 Ritch on any Thursday night is to indulge yourself in rock, punk, indie or just plain good music. On this night a band called Elephone was performing for the CD release of The Camera Behind The Camera Behind The Camera. I will say I was not disappointed, these guys rocked the house with a sound that mixes My Bloody Valentine with U2 (pre "WAR"), and some other stuff that I can't put my finger on. With haunting vocals and driving guitar these guys are on my go to list. "

" With the roar of the crowd and the beat of the drum the Artic Monkeys hit the stage at the San Francisco’s famed Warfield. These kids from Sheffield, England are the talk of the music world, with their simple lyrics and infectious instruments. This night was no different -- kids screamed and the Monkeys played. I personally can't relate to the lyrics but understand why others can so that’s why these kids are a band to watch in the coming years. "

" What Happens In Vegas sometimes fronts like it happened in England. In the grand tradition of the Material Girl, anglophile angst-rockers The Killers aren't from the UK, but they want you to think they are. Spawned in Sin City, the four-piece group, named for a fictional band from a New Order video, mixes hyper-synthesized sound with Brit Pop attitude- and accents. "
