On the evening of March 21st, 2005, the AWLC is co-sponsoring an event of Music of the Kabbalah. The rabbi of Congregation Sherith Israel, Lawrence Raphael, will introduce the event and the speakers. Mr. Nir Ben Zion will perform his original jazz composition for organ based on the Ashlagian tradition of Kabbalistic melodies (niggunim). Both Cantor Rita Glassman of Congregation Sherith Israel and Kabbalist Michael Laitman, Ph.D. will speak briefly on the music of the Kabbalah, after which Cantor Glassman will sing several Kabbalistic melodies. After the musical introduction, Dr. Laitman will give an introductory lecture on the Kabbalah.
Dr. Laitman is the author of twenty-two books on the Kabbalah and is the founder and president of Bnei Baruch Association (http://www.kabbalah.info) – Kabbalah Education and Research Institute. The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. through 9:30 p.m., after which we will host a reception.
