About Sunset Center presents the Capitol Steps
Capitol Steps
Presented by Sunset Presents
Together since 1981, the Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom ("Don't quit your day job!") and taken together, the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. Some have worked for Democrats, some for Republicans, and others for politicians who firmly straddle the fence. No matter who holds office, there's never a shortage of material! With the 2016 presidential primaries right around the corner, this performance is guaranteed to provide some well-timed comic relief.
Attend a free pre-show info session at 6PM in Carpenter Hall! Greta Arevalo, Bilingual Outreach Elections Program Manager of Monterey County Elections, will deliver a 30-minute talk on registration deadlines, vote by mail accessibility, the presidential primary election, and contests on the ballot, followed by a short Q&A. No RSVPs required; seating is first-come, first-served.
Tickets: Level I $69/ Level II $59/ Economy $49
