About Forest Theater Guild

As the ancient Greeks and Romans knew, there is something spectacular about watching a theatrical production outdoors. At the Forest Theater in Carmel, audiences can treat themselves to the unique experience of taking in an exciting play in the company of ocean breezes and towering trees.

Founded in 1910, the Forest Theater is the oldest outdoor community theater this side of the Rockies. Beginning with the production of David for an audience of 1000 people, this beautiful outdoor venue has since welcomed performances of some of the most known and well loved plays, including My Fair Lady, Evita and Les Miserables.

The Forest Theater is a thriving community venue that continues through volunteers and local benefactors, making it available to audiences for incredibly reasonable prices. Located near the heart of downtown Carmel, guests can make a special event out of heading to the theater by visiting nearby restaurants and shops before or after the show.
