Description
On Friday, May 23, come to the de Young Museum to celebrate San Francisco’s newest generation of artists at the Young at Art Gala. The 22nd annual Young at Art festival, a collaborative project of the Visual and Performing Arts Office of the San Francisco Unified School District and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, began May 17 and ends May 25. The festival invites over 3,500 students K–12 from 250 public, private, and parochial schools throughout San Francisco to exhibit their visual, literary, media, and performance artwork in the de Young Museum. At the Young at Art Gala this Friday, orchestras from School of the Arts and Lowell High School will perform. The Friday Night Gala events for Young at Art are free to the public, but regular gallery admission prices apply for the de Young Museum’s galleries. This Friday Night also features an art-making activity, and dinner and drinks are available in the de Young Café.
