The author of Children of God brings us a stunning new novel, set at the 1921 Cairo Peace Conference, when the modern Middle East was invented. Russell often draws upon her eclectic background to bring her stunning stories to life. An A student, a Girl Scout and a virgin bride, she was 29 when she had her adolescent rebellion. A paleoanthropologist, Russell is also a convert to Judaism who remains connected to her Catholic roots.
