Description
Listen & Be Heard Open Mic starts every Friday at 8pm.
There are three Rounds of Open Mic:
Lightning Round
Spotlight Round (For the 10 Poets who sign the open mic list.)
Improvisational Round with Paul Neal and friends.
Featured poets read halfway through the spotlight round.


The open mic is hosted by Martha and Tony Mims. Every Friday, promptly at 8pm, Martha and Tony initiate the evening with their own stylings of spoken word and upright bass accompanied by CarlTrent on percussion and Paul Neal on upright bass. Always working on the old and the fresh, never quite the same thing twice, sometimes they back each other up, other times they go solo. Usually the set ends with Tony’s song, “Listen & Be Heard” the signal that by now everyone should be loosened up and ready to get to know each other in the Lightning Round.
