David Young V, C3 Brandie Grogan Jerry Chang, James Gregg Jason Liekhus And More! Dentists and Art Lovers with an oral fixation will drool over an upcoming exhibit at Space Gallery as each work of art will encompass creative visions involving the human mouth. On April 4th, 2008 Curator David Young V. will be unveiling his group show entitled “ORAL SECT 2” The exhibition will include jaw dropping works of art of 14 talented local artists, including David Young V, C3, Brandie Grogan, Jerry Chang, and James Gregg. The exhibition will include paintings, sculpture and installation art, as well as other creative media, with literal and subtle reference to communication, emotion, sustenance and of course, sexuality. “The first ORAL SECT exhibit was a blast!” exclaims Young, “We had some pretty wild stuff on display” Young notes artist C3’s 600-square foot maze that was built in the gallery to demonstrate the human digestive track. Art lovers would crawl through the entrance and explore different rooms. The exhibit attracted a huge following and lead to a repeat show in Canada. This year’s exhibition promises to be even bigger. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy Brandie Grogan’s work, which includes over 2500 castings of larger then life human teeth, many of which are edible. “We’ve added some interesting performances and some 3-D works to make the show really exciting” adds Young. “Everyone has a mouth,. And everyone has ideas of what it is used for.” Explains Space Gallery Owner Ray Morrone, “We are just going to display them on the floor, walls and hanging from the ceiling.” |
