| Description The San Francisco AIDS Foundation Invites you to participate in a thoughtful discussion about HIV and black gay men with experts in clinical care, behavioral and social research, and community leadership.
By all accounts, black gay men in America are at increasing risk for HIV infection. A study in five major U.S. cities found that 46 percent of black gay men were infected with HIV—more than twice the rate for white gay men. At this HIVision Forum, we will explore factors that contribute to this disparity, such as economic inequality, limited access to health care, and the role of incarceration, and will review what is being done in the Bay Area and nationally to put an end to an unacceptable situation. Featuring Ernest Hopkins, Director of Federal Affairs, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Elmer Ray Knowles, Spiritual Leader, Black Brothers Esteem, David J. Malebranche, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor, Emory University School of Medicine, Gregorio A. Millet, MPH, Behavorial Scientist, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Gavin Morrow-Hall, Associate Director of Community Education and Recruitment, San Francisco Department of Public Health, Moderated by, Duane Cramer, Photographer, Vice-President, Better World Advertising. Seating is limited so please RSVP by Tuesday, May 13th. To RSVP, call 415.487.3073 |
