Eating in Carmel is a global experience with everything from burgers and fries to fine Italian, Spanish, French, Japanese, Chinese, Afghanistan, Seafood and Mediterranean cuisine, all within a few blocks.

The local organic and farm-to-table movement is featured on many menus with offerings from the Monterey Peninsula's agricultural and wine-producing community. Seafood is mostly local and includes calamari, salmon, rock cod, lobster, oysters and mussels all harvested from Monterey Bay.

Food and wine events are also a big part of the culinary scene here. Big crowds enjoy Gourmet Fest Carmel and Pebble Beach Food & Wine in the spring and the Big Sur Foragers Fest in the fall.
