The countdown is on to the seventh annual Carmel International Film Festival! This year is shaping up to be our best yet with an outstanding line-up that includes films that are already generating Oscar buzz. We are also incredibly excited about the addition of our Music Café this year featuring young singer/songwriters performing live. We’ve expanded our Pitch Panel to include two rounds over two days. t all starts with the films and 2015 is a banner year. Michael Keaton stars in Spotlight, a riveting film about the Boston child abuse scandal in the Catholic Church. Bring out the Kleenex for Drew Barrymore’s’ “Miss You Already.” Emmy-award winner Ben Selwick brings his new documentary on posttraumatic stress – “Buried Above Ground” for its West Coast Premiere, with an expected intro from First Lady Rosalynn Carter – only for our Carmel audience. In all, we will screen more than 100 films in five categories: narrative feature, documentary, short, animation, and student.
