
About Childhood Memories
On behalf of the Monterey County Health Department, the Arts Council is seeking original works of art for a juried show at the Monterey County Health Department Building, 1270 Natividad Road, Salinas.
Sixty (60) paintings, photographs or drawings will be selected celebrating Childhood Memories theme. All works are on loan to the Arts Council for a period not to exceed one year. All accepted works are insured -- from the time of delivery to the County building until time of pick up -- for a value not to exceed $4,000. All works are on sale to the public via the Arts Council website (unless prohibited by the artist). The Arts Council retains 30% of the total proceeds to support arts education programs throughout Monterey County.
Eligibility: Paintings, photographs or drawings that support childhood memories theme: children engaged in nurturing activities anywhere in Monterey County or community settings -- by themselves, with family or friends. This can include indoor or outdoor scenes and activities such as reading by themselves or adults reading to children, learning through playing or doing chores, sporting or other physical activities, eating healthy foods, performing or making art.
Guidelines: Complete the entry form, send up to 5 artwork images plus $35. Form option: email form to Klara at [email protected] or mail it together with CD/flash drive plus $35. Images option: mail CD/flash drive, or email images to Klara at [email protected]. Payment option: check, paypal (www.arts4mc.org).
