Fireworks and Harmony

"What better piece to start a festival than Handel's explosive Firework Music!

Horns, trumpets, oboe band, military percussion and strings start the 2015 festival with a bang!

If you were then still not awake, we perform one of Bach' best loved and colourful Cantata's : "Wachet Auf" - with the famous chorale "sleepers wake" !"

The second half is taken up with our first Bohemian piece of the year from Esterhazy on the Hungarian border. Joseph Haydn's warm, full and beautiful Harmonie Mass. Called so, not only for it's beautiful harmonies, but also for it's full wind writing - "Harmonie Musik" as the wind ensemble was called.
