About Light the Fire with MPYRE - Movie Night for a Cause

MPYRE – Monterey Burning Man Regional Group, and Sylvan Design Studio—with participation of Espinoza Graphics, Todd Kruper Fine Art and Sand City Arts Committee—will host Light the Fire with MPYRE – Movie Night for a Cause from 5pm to 10pm. A screening of feature length documentary ‘Impossible Light: The Story Behind An Iconic Light Sculpture,’ followed by Q&A with director Jeremy Ambers, DJ music, and fire spinning performance bring the local community and Burning Man group together to fundraise production costs for MPYRE’s annual beach burn MPYRE Strikes Back at Del Monte Beach in Spring 2015.

Light the Fire will also offer a holiday canned food drive benefitting the Monterey Food Bank. A costume swap will be onsite for participants to dress up or trade fun clothing. Hosted food, non-alcoholic beverages, popcorn and candy will be available with donations accepted. Alcoholic beverages are BYOB only. DVDs of ‘Impossible Light’ will be available for purchase.

MPYRE – Monterey is inspired to bring the energy, creativity, adventurous spirit and fun of Burning Man to the local Monterey community. MPYRE Strikes Back is the only official ongoing Burning Man event in the United States that has no gates, boundaries, required entry fees, or admission policies. Everyone is welcome to participate.
