Monterey Symphony VI: Invitation to Dance

We conclude our 69th Season with a flamboyant repertoire of folk dances evoking landscapes from around the globe. Nations such as Russia, Germany, Argentina, and the Czech Republic are gloriously represented in this tribute to motion in music.
Carl Maria von Weber’s familiar Invitation to the Dance opens the concert, paving the way for the dramatic Symphonic Dances of Rachmaninoff, and the lively Slavonic Dances by Dvo?ák. We close our season with Ginastera’s wild and carefree Four Dances from Estancia.
