San Jose Taiko

Doing its part for the ZERO1 Biennial, San Jose Taiko has made its annual fall concert, Rhythm Spirit, into Taiko+Technology. The weekend performance will showcase the Japanese drumming troupes fertile collaboration with some digital and high tech artists and thinkers, including Michael Fienen of the USGS, who explores new ways to present earthquake data; and Tim Thompson, who does the same for the motion sensors in the Kinect. Adding to the interactivity, the audience gets to vote at intermission about what they will see in the second half.
