The Nutcracker

In its twenty-first year of Nutcracker production, Dance Kids of Monterey County welcomes guest artist and former Dance Kids dancer, Isaiah Bindel, currently a member of the prestigious Dawson Dance SF and Gary Franco, former Boston Ballet and Broadway lead dancer in "Contact". These accomplished professional dancers join a cast of 120 locally trained pre professional dancers bringing the holiday magic of Nutcracker to Sunset Center. Join Clara on her dream-like journey through the Land of Snow and frightening encounters with the Rat Queen and her multitudes of menacing mice. Sharing the glorious stage and set with the Peninsula's own Sugar Plum Fairy, Stella Crall is Howard Burnham, professional actor extraordinaire who recently relocated in Pacific Grove, playing the mysterious Herr Drosselmeyer.

Dance Kids of Monterey County is a non-profit, youth performing arts organization. Activities include dance, music and theater for children ages 5 to 18.

Beyond performance, the program teaches self-esteem, self-confidence, self-discipline, group problem-solving, a sense of completion and love of the arts.
