Carmel Jewish Film Festival Opening Night

About Carmel Jewish Film Festival Opening Night

Join us for the opening night reception with a viewing of "The Third Half."

A true story of love, football, and the Second World War. The daughter of a wealthy Jewish banker and a poor soccer player elope and ultimately elude the bitter destiny of her people. Meantime, the beleaguered Macedonia Football Club hires famous German-Jewish coach Rudolph Spitz to turn the ragtag team into champions.

A panel of professors from MIIS and CSUMB will discuss "Identity: What Makes Us Who We Are?" following our Opening Night film. Dr. Beryl Levinger will serve as moderator with panelists Seth Pollack, Netta Avineri and Nukhet Kardam.
