The Monterey Bay Economic Partnership will be holding its first Regional Economic Summit: Invent Your Future Here – Monterey Bay, on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at the Embassy Suites in Seaside, CA. The event will start with breakfast and registration at 7:30 am and conclude at 4:45 pm.
Nationally renowned economist Chris Thornberg, Founder of Beacon Economics, will present national, state and regional economic forecasts for Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. Mr. Thornberg's presentation will be followed by panels on the Emerging Tech Eco-System, Getting a Gigabit Everywhere, the Blue Economy, Building on our Strength in Agriculture, and Regional Tourism. Come hear the latest on a myriad of topics impacting our regional economic vitality -- from broadband and workforce development to innovation efforts in technology, agtech, energy, food and hospitality. Among the confirmed speakers are: Kish Rajan, Director of the Governor's Office of Business & Economic Development GO-Biz; Bud Colligan, Founder & CEO of South Swell Ventures; Tim Rainey, Executive Director of the California Workforce Investment Board; and Robert Tse, Community Planning and Development Specialist, USDA.
