Monterey County Pops

Monterey County Pops! presens a free Independence Day concert at the Golden State Theatre.

The 40-piece fully professional orchestra will present "Rodeo" by Aaron Copland, "American Salute by Morton Gould, themes from "Star Wars" by John Williams. "A Salute to the Big Bands" will feature "April in Paris", "Pennsylvania 6-5000", and "Sing, Sing, Sing." Young musicians Tara Ragsdale-Cronin, harpist, and Anjela Abonico, vocalist, will perform as soloists with the orchestra in "Colors of the Wind" from the movie "Pocahontas."

Many of the selections will be accompanied by videos created by local artist and musician, Robert Danziger. "Monterey’s Family Album: What We Share" is the theme of the videos that will accompany the music on the Golden State Theatre’s big screen.
