Monterey Symphony Announces Their 7th Annual Mystery Play on January 30th!
About Monterey Symphony Announces Their 7th Annual Mystery Play on January 30th!
Join the Friends of the Monterey Symphony as they present their 7th annual mystery play, “Pshaw! on the Hawkshaw Society”. This annual fundraiser benefits the Monterey Symphony and its many programs which include “Music for the Schools” programs. Every year the Monterey Symphony presents free youth concerts and in-school demonstrations for thousands of local students.
This season, get ready for a detective adventure which takes place in the posh New York apartment of Nick and Nora Charles (The Thin Man) in 1935. Nick and Nora and their famous fellow detectives (Poirot, Columbo, Miss Marple, and more!) are determined to find out who has been stealing certain items from members of the exclusive detective group, the Hawkshaw Society. Enjoy this singing, dancing, detective adventure, and Asta too—you don’t want to miss this!
It is a grand theatrical production with fabulous music, food, and fun! Bring your friends, and help the Mystery Players solve their case while supporting classical music in our community. There will be two productions this season – the first at Hartnell College on The Main Stage in Salinas on January 23rd and the second at Hyatt Regency Monterey on Saturday, January 30th.
Join in the fun and come in your best “1935” attire or as your favorite detective!!!

We are a group of community volunteers who are dedicated supporters of the Monterey Symphony. We are working professionals, parents, grandparents and retirees of all ages who live, work and shop throughout the many communities served by the Symphony. We understand the importance of musical enrichment for our community and music education for our children. We are loyal concert-goers who organize and deliver an array of special events as benefits to support the Symphony.
If you love classical music, a wonderful way to show appreciation for music in your community is to become a Friend of the Monterey Symphony with your tax-deductible donation and/or to volunteer your time. Your support helps the Symphony continue to bring excellent performances of Great Music, LIVE! to the Monterey Peninsula and Central Coast.
